I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla S, and the car won't start. Replaced battery, both terminal clamps, and safety neutral switch. The last thing I can think of is the anti theft system. I don't have a master key, someone took it, but I do have the chipped Valet key. Does anyone know how to bypass it? Oh, and when trying to crank, everything comes on, even the fuel pump, but doesn't make any sounds, at all.

You can't bypass the security system. If that is your issue there will be a security light on or flashing when you try to start it.

What you need to do is simply follow a wiring diagram and find out where the circuit is going wrong.

something is not kosher -this vehicle has started for you and no longer starts?

scan for codes - will take guess work out of this, esp with regard to security issue, did you use a test light and a wiring diagram OR just guess at battery. cables NS switch?

I have an OBD2 scanner, and there aren't any codes. The car was starting after I replaced the terminal clamps, but only a few times. Then it started twice in neutral, now nothing. I can't find a wiring diagram, and wouldn't know where to start. Someone checked all of my fuses, and they were all okay. Maybe the immobilizer?

I don't believe the immobilizer disables the starter on this one. It disables fuel and ignition. If the immobilizer is active, the security light will be flashing or on while your attempting to start the engine.

You need to get your hands on a wiring schematic and do some starter circuit testing.

My cousin is a certified mechanic, but he lives 1500 miles away. We moved past security lock-out, and to the starter. However, I cannot find the starter relay! I don't have any codes registered in the brain, according to my OBD2. Even though my car isn't making any noises at all, could it be the actual starter, or one of the electrical components?

The starter relay is located in the junction block behind the dash on the driver's side. Don't remove it. Check to see if you can feel it click when you attempt to crank the engine. If the relay clicks, more than likely the problem is on the starter (load side) and not the control side of the starting circuit.

Thank you for your reply. It is dark here now, so I cannot resume until daylight. Will respond once I check.
