Battery and the computer Sign In

I had to leave my Peugeot 5008 at an authorised dealer for a check-up since the computer has been showing engine error for the last couple of months caused by some air mixer/feeder or something, part of the turbo. It was replaced in August but the error came back. Apart from that the cruise control isn't working. Apparently some sensor as I can switch it on but cannot set the desired speed. Anyway, the car was connected to a computer last week and the dealer decided it's that air feeder thing again. At that time no other errors. Today I went there again to deal with the error and was told the computer connected to my car came up with lots of errors this time possibly due to the battery giving not enough current. The temperature dropped to -2C yesterday and the on-board computer started showing parking sensor error but the engine started no problem. Actually it never had any problems with starting which is why I'm puzzled by what the dealer says. The error doesn't go away while driving. They decided they'll be charging the battery with low voltage tonight and see what happens tomorrow. I'll add that I did around 250km yesterday so the battery had plenty of time to charge. There was a time where the car was parked for almost 2 months a couple of months ago but even then it started just fine.
While I'm here I found recently that my spare key can unlock the door but only by putting the key into the lock. I can also turn the ignition with it but then the computer shows immobilizer error. The dealer states that it cannot be fixed and has to be completely replaced and then synced with the car which is quite expensive and sound a bit suspicious.
What do you guys think about it?

Re: Battery and the computer Sign In

Please know that almost all regulars are from US and Canada and would have little info on this car at all.

General: Codes read from a computer tell of a circuit not a specific item to be replaced or exactly what just that the error is in that circuit. One can cause another.

If that was a Peugeot dealer and didn't know you had the wrong person within the place or the place not up to this IMO. Cruise not working suggests possible problems with this car knowing it's speed which in turn could disable other things.

The key or spare key may just be what I would call a "Valet" key such that you let someone park it for you at a Hotel or some restaurants type thing and driver would be limited to features but car would run to park and return it to you.

Sorry for a very generic reply to this but just not familiar at all just what some other vehicles do and don't. Some things when for any reason battery is involved will need resetting by procedure or device to reacquaint the keys and features to the vehicle.

In short you need some higher end help to pin down the exact problems without guessing,

Fair enough. Just thought it's suspicious when one week there are no errors and the next week when the repair needs to be done for free under warranty suddenly I'm being told about lots of things being wrong.

Re: Battery and the computer Sign In

There are times you could unhook one wire or a bad connection and set off all sorts of problem codes or real operational problems and it isn't the part itself. Human error, part failure - who knows? That's why it takes the right person and equipment with many things.

Redoing a repair just done that seemed to work for a while is a bit odd but can't second guess someone else's diagnosis,
