An unusual problem

Hello, the problem is so unusual that I'm only guessing this is the right thread. What happens is that I've a non maintenance free car battery so, since it needed a refill as it was dry, I guess I over did it as some acid came out from the battery without me noticing. Or I suppose that is the problem as the battery is now glued to the base of its cradle. Can any body please help with advice as how to remove the battery from the car. Thanks on advance

The battery is not glued down. Acid doesn't act that way. You have likely missed a "hold-down" bolt along the bottom.
Since you didn't post the year, make, model and engine size as we require, I can't help you finding it.

I'm sorry about the missing info: 2007 Audi TT 2000TFSI.
I don't think I've missed any bolts, there's only one on the left side as you look into the battery. The battery doesn't move at all and it seems as glued to the bottom. The only explanation I can find is the acid one. Any help please

I don't believe glue so: Try sliding it towards or away from fastener already loose that goes to low/bottom.
Wild other: No acid for 99% of things. If you were able it's not right IMO for most places? Is it dead and FROZEN with wet now? Dead or if water added it just might be stuck if cold enough.
Baking soda buddy that's all acid don't touch it or get it on you!!
Another wild other: Is this battery in interior of vehicle or trunk/hatch area? That could change how it's held AND must be vented WITH A HOSE to outside. A SERIOUS MUST,

OK, I don't show a TT in 07 so this picture is an 08.
If you look at where that strap it bolted there appears to be a bracket under it that is clamping it down at the lower lip. The battery is likely already slipped under another lip in the tray on the opposite side of the battery.
Believe me, it is not glued down.

First let me explain a couple of things. This is my son's car and he's asking me for help. He, together with a neighbor, tried to take the battery out. He told that it doesn't move at all and that's the reason for the glue theory. Also be so kind as to keep in mind that English is not my native language and we're talking about sort of technical stuff and I might heve some difficulties following your explanations, sorry. In any case if I did understand, you are saying that the battery lower base lip it's stuck under the bracket?
Also, Where I live is very rarely freezing cold cold and it hasn't happened yet

I gave you a diagram to explain. It's hard enough to diagnose a problem over the Internet but when we're speaking through a 3rd party, it's nearly impossible.
The battery has a lip on the bottom edge and the tray has a an edge that hooks that lip and holds it down.

Hammer Time's picture should be the reason for your problem. Two to loosen.
I'm sorry if I was confusing. I meant slide some batteries once fasteners are known loose or out of the way the bottom of many hold them from moving around or UP and out if tight area.
The caution about battery acid is true! Any wetness of a battery or dirt on or around one do NOT allow yourself to touch. Baking Soda is common will cancel the acid and make it harmless.
That is generic and always a caution about batteries.

Ok guys, thanks a lot for the info, I will pass it on to my son. I will let you know how it went after we get back from holyday travel which was the reason why we were trying to take the battery out to begin with.
