The test indicated that the Voltage regulator was malfunctioning. I put in a new alternator/voltage regulator and had it tested again. The test still said the voltage regulator was malfunctioning. I took the old alternator/voltage regulator into the store for a test. It passed. Do I have a wiring problem? The battery tested okay. Is it over charging, undercharging, or not charging at all? Battery light on? What is the voltage at the alternator output lug with the engine running? What is the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running? Have you made sure the battery is fully charged and checks good? Are your battery connections clean and tight? The voltage of the battery when the engine is running is 12.8 volts. Is it possible that a loose or worn belt is causing the problem? Or corrosion on terminals and or wires? Check the belt tension. If good, check the voltage at the output lug of the alternator. Does the charge warning light come on in the dash when you turn the ignition on with the engine off? I HAD THE ALTERNATOR/VOLTAGE REGULATOR TESTED AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL.
