If the battery boiled you will need a new battery. Next, check the charging system. If the voltage is over 15 volts replace the alternator as the regulator has shorted and it is overcharging. This will kill any battery and may damage the computer if the voltage gets too high.

I agree with Steve that the charging system is likely not being controlled by the voltage regulator; if this is the case I also agree that the battery is likely done. An overcharged battery is worse then allowing a battery to go dead; due to the excessive heat will burn it out.
My only warning is; don’t be to quick to condemn the alternator as being the problem, because the voltage regulator is not in the alternator, it’s built into the computer.
You’re going to have to perform a series of tests to determine whether the problem is the alternator, the wiring or the computer that has shorted the field circuit to ground.
To do this is going to be a process of elimination by disconnecting the field circuit ground wire at the alternator and see if the charging system turns off. If it does then you know the problem is not the alternator and you’ll have to work your way back through the wiring too the computer.
I can’t remember what color the field’s grounding wire is but when I get back to work I’ll have a look and post the wires color.

Thanks Dan. OOPS. It's been awhile since I've worked on one. I forgot the SMEC controls the regulator.

Here a wiring diagram of the charging circuit the green wire is the one you want to deal with; going to the powertrain control module (computer).
After you’ve replaced the battery do as Steve said and get a voltmeter connected to the battery and see what voltage you have with and without the car running?

Hi guy's! As you were saying i've tried differrent little things like: looking for ground at the alternator so i unplug every wires from it and from the terminal if it was ground
the answer is no, i check if those wires were grounds to the body the answer is also no.
but i still have de same problem i can not put the battery back in the car, cause when i do a continuite test from the positive terminal+ wire to the minus terminal-wire i still got a beeeeeep from the tester, meaning if i connect the battery there is a chance of making it burn or explode. With that said, i still have to find what positive wire or compoment that could be ground to the body-. I am looking for a wire or something pinch around those thing.

Your help is more than welcome!!!

Put the battery back in and hook up the positive cable. Now, take a test light and put the clip on the negative battery terminal and the probe tip on the negative battery cable. Make sure all of the doors are closed and remove the lamp from the underhood light socket if need be. Check the test light, if it is on there is a short circuit somewhere. Leave the test light connected and remove fuses one at a time until the test light goes out. When the light goes out the fuse you pulled is the problem circuit. Start there and post back when you have identified the faulty circuit.
* If you pull every fuse and the light stays on, disconnect the heavy cable from the back of the alternator. If the light now goes off, replace faulty alternator. Repeat this test for the starter as well if you cannot track the problem down thru fuses.

Re: Acclaim 91 3.0 Liter Boilling Battery and Starter Failed Sign In

I've made the test you suggest me and the result is TADA !: the dome light circuit was faulty.

Start back the car and test the charging system, cold start first test=14.60v to 14.79v 10 minutes later letting the engine run, second test 14.68v to 14.72v.

From inside the car the dash voltmeter indicate somewhere between 10v to 12v ignition key on / engine not running.

From inside the car the dash voltmeter indicate somewhere between 12v to 14v ignition key on / engine running.

Now! Starter look like slow at beginning little delay (2 to 4 sec.) between key on and starter turning, but start ok

Is those figure look ok?

Is there anything else related to the dome light circuit?

Thank again!

Ok last minute report found out cigarette lighter, radio cassette are not working are they related to dome light circuit?

The alternator voltage checks you posted look good. As for the cigarette lighter, radio, I would check that fuse out. Test all of the fuses with a test light, that's the quickest way. If the cig. lighter fuse keeps blowing, uplug the lighter and then see if the fuse holds. Cigarette lighters tend to short out quite a bit it seems. I think it's the car manufacturers' way of jumping on the anti-smoking campaign. LOL
