99 jeep grand cherokee wont start

99 jeep grand cherokee wont start Sign In

i have a 99 jeep grand cherokee 200000 miles never had a starting problem till sunday morning after church it would not start hauled to local machanic he could not help when i turn the key on the dash shows a key with a circle it will crank but do's not hit when went to haul it home open the door the alarm went off put the key in it started fine drove 15 mile at the 4th red light it died and will not start key with circle is back on went to have a new key made they red the key and said it was ok please help as i have been trying to trouble shot as best i can in last hour or so i set the alarm off again it would not start and still has key with red circle

Do you have a different key you can try?

If that icon is lighting up then you have a problem with the security system and you are going to need a professional level scan tool to access that system.

OK I just picked my jeep up from dealer they replaced computer, ever thing seemed to be fine a couple times it would jerk what seemed like (engine) just for a instant gauges flickered check engine light came on after I got home checked battery connection it died twice idling in the drive way started right back check engine light went out drove down the road it quit and restarted twice /dash lights seem to get brighter when I turn wipers on ;made it home fine let it idle 10to15 minutes no more problems called dealer all they could tell me was if it is the computer it is warrantied they are kinda like the doctor they don't want to chit chat any way doe's any one have a idea

If it wasn't doing that before they replaced the computer, you should take it back to the dealer.
