I have a 99 kia sportage that got very wet the other day (puddles). I lost my tach, a/c, speedometer, a/c, fuel gauge, temp. gauge and the auto transmission starts in 3rd when put into drive. I have to manually shift 1st, 2nd, and then to drive. Also it won't downshift when i go to pass. Today (2 days later), it began to run very rough. and would hardly idle. Surely this can't be related to one single problem (fuse), can it? I pulled the 80 amp main fuse located near the battery (after disconnecting the battery as it said to do in the manual), and it appeared fine. After closing the hood tried to reopen it because i had no power to anything (obviously i didn't tighten the battery cable good enough), and the hood release cable came loose and i can't get the hood open. Any suggestions on how to get it open? I am up to my neck in debt or i'd trash the car (just put a rebuilt engine in it 4 mos. ago). Thanks to anyone who can help me keep my sanity.
