98 Blazer Wipers not working

I have a 98 Blazer and the wipers work sometimes and don't other times. The times they mainly don't work is when it is raining. Just today my wife called and it was raining, they were not working, but they started working a short while later. Sometimes they will never start working though. Is this a wiring issue, is there anything I (a non mechanic) can check? This may be unrelated but she said the problem started after I had the transmission rebuilt. Could the transmission company have knocked something loose or fried something in the wiper motor? Any help is appreciated.

There's a good chance your problem is in the wiper motor module. You may want to get a pro diagnosis and repair for this one.
