94 Ponitac Transport Alternator Issue

Hello to all. My issue is, I have a 94 Ponitac Transport and just swapped the alternator because it was not charging. Installed a new one and I am still having the same issue. The alternator is not charging according to the gauge. The car has to be boosted to be turned on and dies out after about 5 minutes. Looked for fuses that would have to be changed but could not find any that correspond to the alternator. Checked battery cables and connections and fusible links. I am out of things to check so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance

For starters: A real low battery will not allow an alternator to charge the vehicle so charge the battery with a charger. Then get a volt reading both off and engine running. Have to start there, T
