Hi!!

I purchased this truck less than a year ago.
Since then I Have had problems starting it after I have used it for awhile and try to start it up again and it won't start not even with a jump. Have to wait until truck cools.

In the mornings or when we first use the truck we turn the key the glow plug lights turn on and when the glow plugs turn off we turn the engine on, it starts every time, but after driving for the day or around after the engine heats up it won't start, but then sometimes we get lucky and it does.

Would you give me some advice where to look?

the 2 Batteries in truck are fine.

we were told to look for some module but not sure which.

Ignition module maybe?

I also found some loose connection they are like one on top of another
it was a little loose. Later use the truck and it started but were not sure yet.

Any ideas of what we can do?

Do you mean that the engine will not crank or is the engine cranking but not firing?

Hi Dan,

Yes, it does crank, it's like when there is no gas. That whining noise.
and like not enough power to start it. But like I said batteries are fine.
fuses too.
I did post an edit that the truck is a 2500 which i forgot to put.
firing? like not enough spark? I guess it's not then.
It's turning but not starting.

Hope you or anyone else can give us some pointers.
By the way this truck will also be sold. 5 cars it too many!
Only need 3.

First off I'm not a diesel tech but do know they run on "heat of compression" and their fuel pump system is major important. Once running they don't need electricity like gas engines. Don't know the # but they need high fuel pressures which I would try to check out - especially when it's down. Good luck with it, T

My last diesel experience was about 15 years ago, but your problem sounds like a fuel shut-off solenoid. They used to live inside the injector pump.
