Hi, First time poster. Brake lights are out. We changed the switch behind the brake pedal...didn't work. Changed the fuse and it worked for about 3 seconds, then fried the fuse. Every time we put a new fuse in and step on the brake pedal, the fuse pops immediately. HELP! (And thanks)!

Check for a short circuit in the stoplight circuit. Remember, the stoplight circuit also goes through the turn signal switch. Start by checking the bulb sockets in the brake lights to see if they are burnt, the wiring is frayed or pinched, check the insulation carefully, check for any moisture in the lens assembly, check for correct bulbs, check to make sure bulbs are installed correctly, and make sure the wires for the brake lights aren't pinched and the insulation isn't rubbed through.
