2008 GMC Savana 2500 4.8L Electrical Problems! Sign In

I have a 2008 GMC Savana 2500 4.8L with apprx. 250 000kms. Not long after I bought it I was driving and all of a sudden all of the gauges dropped, except the charging system gauge. After the gauges dropped if I hit the brake pedal there is a clicking noise right as you press it and right before you let it go completely. The van will downshift normally but then when you start to accelerate and it goes to shift it is extremely rough and bangs through the gears. Other than this everything else seems normal. Until I Sh!t off the van, it will not restart. When the key is turned it doesn't crank it do anything whatsoever. After 20-30 minutes it will start up again and the gauges are back to normal. I realized that if the gauges drop and you smack the bottom of the steering wheel extremely hard the gauges will return but the rough shifting will continue until the van is restarted(I found this out accidentally lol). Sometimes the gauges will flicker up and down and other times they just drop and never come back. Sometimes the drop after 1 minute of driving and other times I drive for hours with no problem. I also find that they drop sooner if the heat is on. Side note- the heater and AC also quit working, blower and all.
So obviously I am extremely confused, I have had a shop check it several times and they have no idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

might want to look at ignition switch - the electrical portion not the key/lock portion.
Be sure to scan for codes even if light off - all modules, B, U, C etc.
tell us - any added electrical devices - remote starter, aftermarket alarm, something electrical changed or added?
