2008 Chevy Cobalt Lock Issues

Hi, my cobalt has been having issues with locks on the drivers side front door. The switch to lock and unlock the door doesn't work all the time (only the lock function works and only if the car has power). I was wondering what the problem is also, what parts I would need to fix it?

Can you clear up what you mean please? Why would anything electric work without power?
Also - you mean switch from the driver's door or the lock to the driver's door? Key fob control or the car's switch?
At the moment it sounds like you have a dead battery and I don't think that's what you mean,
