This car just didn't start about a week ago, no power inside or out. Tested battery (less than 6 mos old) with digital multimeter and looked normal 12.75 w/motor off-14.75 full power. Charged at home with electric charger and went from totally nothing to perfect in about 5 minutes! I let it charge about 15 min. same readings. Checked connections-terminals etc. all were good, from what I could see! I thought maybe college kid home from school left lights on or whatever but car drove fine for 3-4 days. Then happened again at store-turned on ignition, same symptoms-waited 3-4 minutes started right up-all power.
Put on charger when I got home-no start/power, let it charge for 15 min or so-same, then tried to fast start ot whatever the charger setting is with higher voltage, and it tried to start-but sluggish lights dimming inside so decided to forget about that.
I took battery out as someone suggested it could be a bad cell, though I thought maybe alternator, but when I saw the burned wires I knew that was pretty serious.
I saw a video about a similar problem and the guy purchased a fusible link holder (Nissan part# 2438079912) for about $20 and seemed like a pretty easy fix-until I unplugged mine & saw how burned up that area is.
So any help appreciated on how to repair or proceed- money is very tight now but gotta get it fixed--thx. so much-pics enclosed.

you will need a good deal of support from a NISSAN dealer - wiring diagrams etc, might want to check if there is a online dealer with parts diagram/pictures... do you know NISSAN's exact wording of the component or circuit- might be a help in searching.

Hopefully your electrical skill is somewhat advanced.
I would first try to solve the cause and to me I always start with any added electrical - alarm, remote, trailer, audio...

I have good insurance SO you might want to ask if your fire coverage will apply.

The fusible link holder p/n 24380-79912 is about $21 for the dealer.

Now the connector is a different story. To get that you have two options (1) find one in the salvage yard. Clip it off and splice it into the harness.
(2) buy the harness from the dealer.

There are two harnesses, but not sure which one that is that plugs into that. 24079-CA011 is a subharness that is about $40. The other harness is 24011-CB601 which cost around $800 and would included a lot of labor to install.

The reason it did that was because it got hot from a poor connection that created a lot of resistance. Corrosion was probably a factor too.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Thanks Kev2 for your replies. I did find the fusible link holder at my Nissan dealer which is very close by and the part is in stock for a great price which is the good news!
But not covered by insurance and my electrical skill is not that advanced tho. probably could have handled the fusible link installation but all those melted wires and stuff
ends my involvement. But appreciate your reply and info. Thanks-Jerry

Thanks fo your reply and those details, Discretesignals.

I can get that fusible link holder at Nissan dealer around the corner, in-stock and the price is right.

That's a great idea about the connector and appreciate the info. on the harnesses. It would be my lucky day if i only needed the subharness but that's the way it goes!
But really appreciate the specific info. and also the cause. Will follow up with the details of this repair and thanks again!

Update: Got it fixed!

I was fortunate that a mechanic I have used in the past was able to repair very reasonably to say the least! He gives you the option of using new/or used parts or try to work around the issue
and repaired it in 2 days for under $200!
I do realize that this forum helps many people fix their problems and the idea is to show how the fix was done to use it as an example etc. Unfortunately, I have no idea what he did-due to communications;
between language differences and my hearing..we managed somehow. He does have a business license and location so not a fly by night & if something is wrong I can bring it back and he will fix it.
Enclosing pic-hope you can view.
Thanks for your input and this great venue-its much appreciated by all..

Well, that's a little crude but it will do the job. Glad you got it resolved.
I will close this now to keep the spammers out.
