Driving and the panel went dead. The battery and airbag are the only things working on the panel and they stay on. I had the battery and the alternator tested. They said was the alternator. Took it the mechanic under warranty. He changed it and it did not fix the problem. He told me that it could be anything and take hours to track down. I said no thanks and drove home. Oh yeah, The windshield wipers won't turn off. The headlights and tail light work. Ideas?

Could be a bad dash cluster but it needs to be troubleshooted professionally.

Whoever diagnosed that as a bad alternator is an idiot. You shouldn't have been charged for that incorrect diagnosis and repair.

Thanks, Driving home yesterday the panel would work every time i came to a stop in drive (stop light or stop sign) as soon as I eccelerated it would shut off. Also sometimes as it would shift down or up from overdrive to regular it would run bad.

More reason it needs to be professionally looked at.
