Problem started about 2 months ago. I've had the vehicle since last February with no similar problems. I've had my vehicle to a Kia dealer but they were unable to help; no codes came up in the computer. Here's the symptoms: while driving vehicle seems to loose power; dash indicator lights (could be 1, could be all) come on sometimes but radio always goes off. This only lasts a second or 2; vehicle doesn't stall. Sometimes it 'bucks' like it's lost power, but not consistently. Vehicle never shuts off; radio/lights come back on and driving continues. Frequently the only way I know it has had an 'episode' is the music will break then continue. My own assessment is that it is related to heat but cause I have not had these occurrences until this summer and only when the temp is in the 90's. Also the interior lights will flicker when on and frequently the blower will decrease then return to normal speed when the AC is running. Just today I discovered that the ACC position on the ignition doesn't work, but there is a slight tapping sound coming from the dash. The dealer checked the charging system and says everything is fine. They basically told me they don't know what else to do until the check-engine light comes on and registers something in the computer. I've looked online and others have had maybe one of these issues, but not all in the same vehicle. Please help.

I doubt this problem is going to set a code and if it does it will probably just be from an unrelated system affected by the power fluctuation.....

I would start with the basics......Load test the battery and clean the terminals.....If it's the OE battery,,,,Change it, even if it's not the problem, being 5 years old, it's doesn't have much longer to live.....

Sometimes you need to fix known problems to help eliminate them from the list......If there is a problem with the ign sw, this could definitely be causing this problem and again you already have a known problem with it that will need to be addressed sooner or later before it gets worse......

Ideally it's always best to be able to trace the problem, fix it and be 100% sure, but with intermittents, those can be tough and usually it's best to start off with fixing things that you know are bad if you don't come up with anything on your initial tests. It's hard enough when the vehicle isn't failing while you're checking it out but then throw in 2 or 3 systems that are marginal and could be affecting your tests and it makes it near impossible..............

It seems I have a similar issue except I have not noticed any issue with the ignition switch function and I just recently replaced the older orig batt. What did you find to be the issue?
