2005 Jetta lights stay on after mirror replacement

I had to replace the side mirror on the driver's side on my 2005 Jetta recently. I took it to a body shop, they replaced the mirror with an aftermarket version (some of the original components for the mirror were superseded). Everything looked fine, until the next night I noticed that both the taillight and headlight on the passenger side were on. I couldn't find any reason the lights should be on (doors were closed, lights were switched off), let alone why only the passenger side lights were on. I assume it has something to do with the wiring when the side mirror was replaced, since the mirror is heated, has a small indicator light, and has electronic controls on the driver's door. But I don't want to go in there on my own without a better idea of what I should try and what to avoid. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can always unplug the mirror and see if things straighten out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
