Thanks for your time.
2004 Suzuki GV. The air bag light was staying on during warm weather and out during cold weather, now it stays on almost all of the time. We had the code checked a couple of years ago and they told us it was a problem on the passenger side. The thing is, as I understand it, once the system receives an error code the light should stay on until the system is reset manually. If the light is coming on and going out it seems the problem would be in the computer or the warming light itself, or am I wrong?

You need to take it to a shop that has the capability of interfacing the air bag module. They can retrieve trouble codes.

The computer can turn the light off if the problem passes. The computer doesn't need to be reset to turn off the light if the computer sees there are no problems at that time. Even though the light goes off the computer will store the code(s) in history(memory).

Air bag computer usually runs a diagnostics on the SIR system when you turn the ignition on. If the problem isn't there during the testing, the computer will turn off the light.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
