2003 ford escape not turning over

2003 ford escape not turning over Sign In

 have a 2003 ford escape 166xxx mi and today I was driving it to the store and after I got back in it would not turn over the instrument panel did not light up besides the door ajar and a blinking theft light but that has done it sence purchase, radio will not come on and the turn signals will not work(hazards do) as well as the windows will not go up but headlights door locks and the odometer sill do work. Good battery checked fuses and there good as far as i can tell I have no idea what to do don't have the money to bring it to dealer ..... thinking maybe ingnition switch?!?!.....

Did you have the battery tested? Are the terminals clean and tight?

Yes I also removed both cables from battery for 30 minutes to try a reset but that didn't work..
I did a load test on the battery and it passed

2.0L or 3.0L?

Its the 3.0 xlt 4X4

The blinking theft light is not a good sign when you have the ignition on or in the crank position.

Go into the fuse box under the hood and look for the starter relay. Remove the relay (C1017). Have someone hold the key in the start position. Then put the relay in the socket and see if it makes a clicking sound. Do you have a 12 volt test light or multimeter?

Its at a buddy's garage he has a test light not sure about multi meter ill be there first thing tomorrow morning and report back to you..... thanks you for the help so far!!!

Got it to start it was an ignition switch fuse..... i feel kinda dumb didn't realize it had a fuse used to older cars thanks for all your help though.....oh and the theft lights stops flashing once it cranks.....thanks again!!!
