2002 buick rendezvous security light on,bcm problems

we bought an auctioned repo vehicle. it came with one key, not the key with the chip or even the fob with buttons, just a regular gm key. I drove it home. The security light would show on the screen/dash at regular intervals. when we got home we shut it off. somebody noticed the security light when they came out to see the car and that the headlights wouldnt turn off so they disconnected the battery. when they reconnected the battery the lights would blink,windows didnt work. fan worked on one speed. We called the dealership and ordered a fob,got it, tried to program it, still had security light flashing at reg interals, etc. we havent bought the key with the chip yet. Should we? we had a relative scan and he says the bcm module has problems. im not sure if he meant its shot or the code says so. i got on line at carcomplaints and somebody had almost the same car problems. there was an answer by someone about the door control contacts need to be cleaned because theyre tin contacts and they cleaned and put conductive grease on them and they solved some of the problems. we had the door panel off and found that somebody jumpered the door wire to the fuse box. ive done a lot of cicuit boards repairs/soldering and noticed circuit boards are cheap compared to years ago. are you aware of the bcm (body control module ) on gm cars in that time period having problems with the bcm? also do we necessarily need that key with the chip to undo the security issue. after looking around on the web i noticed others having similar but slightly different problems. could they have something to do with vibration and poor quality circuit board connections? i need direction for my search and advice. im sure were going to buy the code key but money is an issue. is it dumb to keep looking without the key?
