2001 pontiac montana rear right turn signal issue Sign In

Hello. I've been having an issue with my passenger rear right turn signal flashing faster than normal. This only happens at night when I use the brakes. I changed all the bulbs (none were bad). When I turn the right turn signal on all of the lights flash strangely. I did notice that the turn signal light seemed to be weak.

I've been googling for hours. I also have an abs brake light on for no reason. I took it to a shop to have the hub & bearing replaced. He told me there wasn't anything wrong with either of them. He said possibly dirt got on the sensor. The reason I mention this is because I'm wondering if they are related. I saw on several posts about these two possibly being related.

If this is an easy fix I'd like to do it myself rather than spend hundreds of dollars on a 10 minute job. I should also mention that I had a shop put in on a computer. Nothing shows up. No check engine light. Nothing.

Thanks in advance to whoever responds.

You May have a faulty Circuit Board for the signal light concern.
Of course it would need to be diagnosed...inspect it for any corrosion, melted terminals, faulty connector.
Its a common problem.

See if ABS light concern goes away after replacement of circuit board

If ABS light is still a concern,there are TSBs (bulletins) out ..Here is one in particular that MAY apply;

Subject: 2001-2004 U/X Van Intermittent ABS Light On - keywords C1227 C1228 C1234 C1235 lamp MIL wire #PIC3405 - (02/22/2005)

Models:

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI. Condition/Concern:
A customer may comment of an intermittent ABS indicator light illuminating. There MAY be ABS codes of C1234, C1235, C1227 and/or C1228 set in history. Recommendation/Instructions:
The replacement of wheel speed sensors and/or EBTCM module may prove ineffective. The technician should look closely at three specific areas for wiring chaffing concerns. The three areas of possible chaffing are:
  1. The main engine harness possibly contacting the mass air flow (MAF) sensor housing.
  2. The wire harness in contact with the transmission shifter cable bracket. The bracket is located on the top of the transmission below the brake booster area.
  3. The wire harness from connector C101 is being routed between the booster and the braided steel brake lines from the DBC-7 modulator.

Note: These harnesses may be viewed in SI under the following Document ID numbers:
2001 - Document ID # 742788
2002 - Document ID # 779674
2003 - Document ID # 838087
2004 - Document ID # 838087
The correction would be to repair any wiring concern located in these areas and reroute or protect the harness with conduit in the contact areas.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

I haven't had a chance to check the circuit board. When I get a day off next week this is the first thing I will check. I'll post if this solves the problem or not. Thank you!

I removed the circuit board today. I inspected it for any corrosion, etc. It was completely clean. I'm not sure if I should replace it or not at this point. My next question is should there be something else I need to look at? I don't know if it would be wise to just buy a new circuit board regardless of the fact it looked good.

Thanks for reading & any more advise would be welcome.
