2001 Ford Mustang Power Windows Won't Open Sign In

Hi, the back left quarter power window on my 2001 Ford Mustang Convertible is not working at all anymore. The other 3 windows are still working fine. I figure it must be the window motor or something, but is there I way I can figure out what exactly is the problem on my own without having to take it to the mechanic? thanks.

To confirm that the motor itself is bad you’ll need to get to the actual motor and disconnect its electrical connector. Then with a test light connected across the two wire terminals of the connector, ignition in the on position, switch the window switch up and down and the test light should light. If the test light lights then the motor is bad, if it doesn’t light, it could be a bad master/driver’s switch or an open in the wiring.
To get to the rear window motor(s) on a convertible is a bit of work; the top needs to be put down, the rear seat bottom and back rest needs to be removed and then the trim panel.
Before you start doing all of that you may want to test the driver’s switch just to make sure that it is doing what it should as in sending power to the rear window circuit. You’ll have to remove the door trim panel so as to get to the back of the switch. Once there connect a test light between the black/red and yellow/black wire terminals. Then again switch the switch up and down and the test light should light in both directions, ignition on of course.
