Hello,

This is a first for me here. I'm trying to find help changing the resistor on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I believe I need to do this in order to get my heater to work again. I just can't see where one set of the wires is mounted at because they disappear up into the dash. Do I need to dismantle the dashboard in order to replace the resistor? Is there any other way to accomplish this task? The dealer simply told me that I have a big problem and that they weren't sure what to suggest for me. Any advice?

Thank you very much!!

Craig

Thank you for responding. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what are you calling the "heater box"?

It's the distribution box which is NOT a box but a plastic housing that contains the flaps that allows for different temps and where you want air to flow like floor, dash vents or defrost or a combination. It could be inside the vehicle or under the hood. Follow heater hoses or A/C hoses and that's where they go.

ALLDATA.com could give you exact details but it costs for a subscription. If you locate it you may need to take things like the glovebox out or more to get at some parts to it. Hope that helped, Ask away, T
