Sign In so it's started about 2 years ago. when it would get cold out "Ugly Betty" wouldn't want to start and we were constantly getting her jumped. we got the battery tested and it was good and still under warranty. alternator was also good. the starter was not so we got another one with lifetime warranty. we also got spark plugs and wires and the coil pack. it did okay for a couple weeks and then started again. this time the battery tested bad so we replaced it along with the cable connectors. she was fine all the warm months and then when the weather started cooling again it happened again. everything was still good though. spring came around and it stopped. this past year though when I'm driving I can hear the electric clicking on and off, starting slow and then clicking rapidly. I seem to be the only one who hears it though. when that happens all windows stop working but nothing else and the car wont start. but if you wait for the right click it will start. again I obviously am crazy according to everyone because only I hear it. so now here we are again with another new battery, another set of cable clamps and the cycle continues. please help!. auto zone tried checking for codes and I as well have a reader but my connection to the computer is broke so we cant get the codes. Sign In Can you clarify as to how the OBD2 connector is broken? Is this a cranking problem or a starting issue? Cranking means the starter motor is operating. Starting means the starter motor is cranking the engine, but the engine doesn't want to run. Sign In Does the horn work? What is the condition of the battery cables? Have you tried a voltage drop test on the cables when the problem is occurring?
