I have an intermittent power window switch on my 2000 Chevy Blazer and would like to attempt to replace it. I am wondering if this a project that I can do myself (I don't even know how to remove the door panel).

I don’t think you have to remove the whole door panel to remove the switch. The trim around the switch will pop out of the panel and then the switch is removed from the trim.
Take a flat screwdriver to the front of the trim and gently pry up to release the spring clip after that lift the trim and switch assembly out of the door panel. Once you’re that far it will be obvious how the rest comes apart.
There is one thing to try first though and that is to go and get some contact cleaner from almost any parts department or electronic repair store and spray some inside the switch while you work the switch back and forth, it just may need cleaning.
Most of these aerosol cleaners come with a little straw that you’ll be able to get the cleaner right inside the switch by the toggle.
I’ve cleaned more switches then replaced the last couple of years.
There is one caution and that is making sure that the cleaner is not so aggressive that it melts plastic. Try it somewhere on any plastic that is not visible, just to make sure.
