This car not sold where most regulars are so little to no real tech info available.

Guesses: Try a second remote and or perhaps a new battery for remote.
Is there a non key, non remote switch to lock and unlock inside car? Does that work well if so?

A thought: Not sure of features but will remote work if car is running? It might be designed not to but if it ever could the voltage is higher and if that works the car's battery might be the issue getting more power when running then just sitting there of course but just slightly inadequate for "unlock" which I've found takes a tad more power than "lock" and did battle with one for months that would plain work fine for weeks at a time.

That one (Chevrolet) ended up being a relay that inside used a separate circuit for lock or unlock requests and weak for unlock but would try when requested just not really unlock everything,

T
