I have a 1999 Lexus Es300. (Please don't tell me to buy a new car, lol)! The front 2 power windows and sunroof keep opening when the car is off. The locks unlock and then the windows and sunroof go down. The first couple of times this happened, I took it to the dealership who told me that it was a default in my remote. They told me to get rid of the remote. So I threw it away! Low and behold it happened again. I called the dealership back and they told me that they didn't know what was wrong then. Took the car to a local mechanic and of course it didn't happen while they had the car. The mechanic did do a quick electrical check and didn't notice anything loose. They also checked the fuses. Started doing it again and last night it poured!!! And you guessed it, I park on the street...no garage here! Anyone have any ideas????

Any work done before this problem showed up?

Could be a problem with the integration relay, which is nothing more than a body control module. It is basically in charge of recieving inputs and controlling outputs of things such as the power windows and the sunroof. The integration is supposed to kill power to the sunroof after 43 seconds when the ignition is turned off.

Someone is going to have to verify if there is a problem with the integration relay. Its powers and grounds have to be verified and inputs and outputs integrity checked before replacement of the relay occurs.

No recent work had been done. Just curious.... How expensive could this be? Is it worth it on such an old car?

Don't really know how expensive it would be until the problem is located.

Can't say it is worth it because don't know the condition of the vehicle.

Find out what is wrong with it and then get an estimate for repair. Then decide if the vehicle is worth keeping. If the vehicle is running good and you want to hold onto it, don't see why you shouldn't get the relay fixed compared to the cost of purchasing another vehicle and making payments.

Even if you were to sell it privately without repairing the problem is has, you should lower the asking price. That's unless your an unscrupulous seller.
