1999 Chevrolet Venture right window won't go up.	Sign In

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Venture SUV and the right door window stopped going up. Tested the motor with stand alone battery and it will go up and down. Hooked up to wiring harness, I can get it to go down, but not up using the right door switch. The left door switch does nothing? Replaced the right door switch and the same thing happens. It will go down but not up. I can get the motor to go and down by reversing polarity to the brown and dark blue wires manually using an external battery, but not with it hooked up to the wiring harness,

That appears to be a bad master switch not supplying a ground for the up circuit.
That wire could also be broken somewhere in between.

? This was common once with wire thru the door jam where it bends. Motor works and the hinge can play "ground" but any going thru can fool it but run like you did.
If so try tug gently on wires seen from door or inside whichever is a good shot see if totally disconnected (not likely) or springy feel. Find those colors then check continuity if still doing just that and can't find another reason. 20 years wire/the insulation on it some just give out, some don't in same bunch that pass thru,
