1997 mercury mountaineer locks not working correctly

1997 mercury mountaineer locks not working correctly Sign In

I just got a 1997 mercury mountaineer and my locks are not working correctly i am not sure what is causing it. i posted a video to show what is happening. all of the locks do this.

Faulty door lock actuators. You have to go into the door to replace them. They are riveted to the door shell, so you'll need a big rivet gun.

Ok I will have to give that a try. I will look in to replacing all 5 of them. Thank you for your time Smile (link deleted) will these ones work fine?

Can't tell you the quality of those parts, but mostly everything is made in Chiwanda.

Did they ALL go screwy all at once? Anything like a flood in its history?
I've never found all actuators go all at the same time. The few were weak relays worked some with engine running (higher voltage) and less able when engine off a clue.


BTW - That rivet gun isn't cheap and mandatory to do most of these type things,
