I have a V6 1996 Grand AM SE with bad Instrument Cluster that needs to be replaced. I can't seem to find any used one for the particular year. But I do see one on ebay for 97-98 grand am models that look exactly the same. On the other hand, those listed under 94-95 models look different.

Do the 97-98 instrument clusters work with 1996 Grand Am? Thanks a bunch.

Check with your local salvage yard for exact replacement stuff. Things can change mid model year sometimes!

Here's a place that might have what you want and said they would ship. Phone only at a Massachusetts salvage yard with computerized inventory perhaps to a place nearer to you!

Thanks Tom! I checked with my local salvage yards. None have it for 96 model. The thing is 96 Pontiac seems to be neither like 94/95 nor like 97/98 (these two pairs are the same models). I will call Rich's and see what they have.

If only someone who knows about Grand AM's could verify whether the ICP from 97/98 works with 96...

Just know that sometimes slowly these "bone yard" are getting better at inventorying what they have and have "crossover" info not available to me. They can connect with other places and so far much is phone calls not online!

Suggestion: If you check locally and they don't have the answer for you ask them who they think might!

Guess: What you seek isn't going to be easy thru Ebay, Craiglist - others. I think you have to plain talk to some folks who deal in salvage. New would probably be near impossible,
