Car has sat for 2 plus years. No spark, no fuel injection plus. Replace all fuses and relays, Dist cap and rotor. ignitor, and computer from running 94 Camry same equipment as mine. Has anti-theft system but stereo works so I don't think it is active. Still no spark, no injector pulse. Any ideas. All connections look OK. Has battery voltage at Dist.

Are you done aimlessly throwing parts at it?

Run ALL of these tests.

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.

Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

4) If all of these things check good, then you would need to do a complete compression test.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

Please read post. I have battery voltage at + side of coil. Compression is between 125 and 137 cold. I used noid lights to check for injector pulse. None. Prior owner replaced coil/dist (internal coil) when he first had problem. Car ran about a week and quit again. I checked all these things 2 years ago for him and instead of taking the car to the dealer at $100 per hour he just parked it. Fuel pressure is within specifications 42lbs. I suspect something odd, is there any switch like Ford had years ago that would shut of the engine in a wreck, if I remember it stopped the fuel pump. Are there any fusible links in the engine electrical system? I understand that the dist controls the fuel pulse and spark through the engine computer. The wiring and connections all look good but has anyone else had this problem. I don't like to probe the system but think there might be a bad connection between the Dist and the igniter.

Don't worry about me, I have read your post.

You have not completed all the testing yet

Is there power to one side of the injectors?
Is there power to the + side of the coil?
Is the distributor actually turning?
Does the check engine light come on for a bulb test when the key is first turned on?
Have you scanned it for codes yet? If not, do so.

What you did 2 years ago doesn't mean anything now so start from the beginning.

The figures I gave were from yesterday, not 2 years ago. I HAVE BATTERY VOLTAGE, 12.52 AT THE PLUS SIDE OF THE COIL/DIST UNIT. the dist is turning and the rotor is pointing to #1 cyl on the dist cap when the timing mark is correct on the crankshaft There were no codes from the computer 2 years ago and still no codes, just the flashing that there are no codes. I don't have the info from 2 years ago but everything I checked 2 years was within specs. If there was a easy answer, I would not be seeking info on this web site. If the dist is not firing, then there would be not pulse to the injectors. I think I'm just going to have to disconnect the computer and check the wiring system to se what is not connected. Thanks for your help

It sounds like you have no reference signal which is supplied by the pick-up coil in the distributor or any related wiring. You should be using a lab scope to track down that signal.

The car has a "Anti-Theft system". According to the car owners manual there is a code that I can get from Toyota to disable the system. The manual seems to say if the system is tripped that the radio will not play but it works fine. I know some vehicles have systems that will disable a car after a few miles if the system is tripped. Could this be my problem. The manual says that disconnecting the battery could trip the system or a dead battery if the system was on. Do you or anyone out there know anything about the system in a 1994 Camry?

2 Years of sitting of course the battery went dead as if disconnected so whatever disabling system is almost certainly set. Where's the code to unlock it now? Many people would write it in an owner's manual or if lost totally good luck getting a code from Toyota?

It's ~22 years old so I wouldn't trust any anti-theft design after a couple years to be even operating as intended either adding to the mess.

I doubt Toyota put an anti-theft system that shut car down after a couple miles which you can't do if not running but radio involved you seem to know. Oh my - many radios don't last that long just making it harder to know.

If this car is worth squat now it's probably worth getting all info known including diagrams thru AllData or something like it and then know where to test what and where it drops out.

At a minimum you need to keep a known good battery connected and kept charged up or are probably fighting the alarm system that may not even be working as intended anymore.

Add to that 2 years of sitting - fuel could be impossible to use, multiple tries continually flooding it out if it does work it's a lot to check out and do if it did start and you wanted to use it again now,
