1991 Chevy Silverado ground wire issues

I have a 1991 Chevy Silverado with a 5.7L. The other day I was puting the negative cable back on the battery when the truck started cranking over and started. The key wasn't even in the ignition, and the only way I could get it to shut off was pull the coil wire. Any Ideas?
