Hello,
I have a 1990 Toyota Pickup 22R, and I'm in need of a new battery. I was wondering what is the suggested battery specifications for a small truck like this. I have a radio with some LEDs that's hot wired to the battery (not done by me). Other than that, there isn't anything that's been changed from when it was manufactured , besides some replacement parts, but what starting amps and cold start amps should I look at getting minimally?

You should just be able to ask for an OE rated battery. Off the top of my head look for at least 550 CCA means "cold cranking amps" but size and which side pos and neg posts are going to matter more for cables and if still OE type of hold down hardware.
Watch out for powering things direct to battery. I highly suggest fusing them at least as close to battery at possible and if radio/sound systems is way over powered more to consider not just battery.
Easy on this - just ask for power, quality you want and OE size,

I use a strap to keep my battery from jumping around, and it seems to work fine. The sound system in my truck is nothing special, and I've had it for 1 1/2 years, so I think it's okay. I don't know how to hook anything up to fuses, but thank you for the input man. I really appreciate it. I'll look for something with the 550 CCA then.

You can never go wrong by buying a battery more powerful than you need. The less hard it works, the longer it lasts and the less issues you will have during it's lifetime.They will have longer guarantees and more reserve which comes in handy.

I could have guessed hold down OE stuff gave up long ago so do at least make sure it's held in well. Not just bungee cords. Check or universal bottom plates to mount and strong stuff just for this in stock at assorted outlets and grease stuff up,

(edit) CCA is the rating for 32F I think. If frequently much lower it's real CCA is that much lower - just FYI.......
