1990 Honda Accord EX 5SP problem not firing?

I have 1990 Honda Accord EX 5 Speed and car died on me one day like it ran out of gas. It will try to turn over but will not fire. I have tried changing the alternator but that was not the problem... doing the same thing. Any suggestions? I am going to look at the distributor next... possibly the points? I am just guessing now... Anyone had similar problem before?

This car should NOT have points!
See if you can determine what is lacking. In general spark and fuel are culprits. Timing and belt could be a player if not tended to, T
