Hello, I am currently considering investing in a 1984 Porsche 944 with 130,000 miles. Unfortunately there is no spark in the car. The current owner did not have a key so he stripped the key switch reading online that the key switch is a common problem and rewired a push button switch. This got the car to roll over, but still has no spark. He believes it could be the alarm system that could be the problem, but I am unsure. Also he has never got it running. What could be the reasons for no spark & should I possibly invest?

Porsche makes a nice car if you have a Porsche pocketbook. If it were a vehicle that had been worked on by someone who knew what he was doing it would be one thing, but this guy did a hack job on the wiring of an exotic sports car which all parts for it carry an exotic price tag. I work on cars for a living and I wouldn't touch it if it was given to me.

Thanks for the advice, I definitely don't really have the money to pay for what problems this car may bring. It is a beautiful car in great condition, I just wished he would have done a little more research before tearing apart this car, but I suppose it was his to do what he wants.

Once again thanks for the advice before I got myself to deep into it.

Thanks for asking for advice before getting into it. So many people come here after buying someone else's disaster and we have to give them the bad news. I hope you find yourself a fun car within your price range that isn't cut up like that.I'd bet it was a real nice car before that got got his hands on it. Now its like a beautiful woman with VD. You love the look of it, but you know you're going to get burning if you hop in.
