2003 Ford Explorer lost instrument lights, radio, interior lights and power windows and power locks. All fuses in engine compartment and under the dash are OK. The vehicle runs OK. Headlights, brake lights and turn signals are all OK. Horn works. Seat belt alarm is OK. Help. Help. Help.

Fuses may be ok but do they have power? There's probably a main larger fuse underhood that goes on thru a block at firewall which can be a problem spot. Follow the path of known power and find where it stopped, T

All the fuses in the affected circuits have power. I'm thinking it has something to do with the delay circuit which holds all those things up after the key is turned off for a brief time. The radio keeps playing, the windows are still active and interior lights are on UNTIL the driver's door is opened. I have looked for a large fuse which would go to the power block under the dash, but so far, I have not found it nor a timed relay for those circuits mentioned. Anybody else ever hear of this problem?

Here is a diagram that shows the delay relay. It is powered by fuse f2.17 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You are d'man! Where is the block which has plugs 270 d, e, f, and g ? I assume it's under the dash, but I can't remember seeing it, and I was looking for relays. I'm going over to my friend's house later tonight to help him with this problem. Thanks again.

Those are sockets in the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The second block of relays is on top of the main fuse block. I spent 30 minutes under the dash and could not see any way to gain access to the relays on that block, EXCEPT possibly having to remove the dash and A/C vent and other stuff. If you have any details on gaining access to those relays, it would be very halpful. Thanks.
