please help: installing cd player but cant find a wiring colour code to match what is in my car.	Sign In

I'm trying to install a CD player in a 2001 Kia sportage. I couldn't find a wiring harness for my car so I have to manually connect the wires but the wire colours are different to the Kia wiring diagram. In the console there is a white plug with 4 wires- black/blue, blue/purple, green, light green/yellow. 4 wires on the black connector- blue/purple, blue/green, green/yellow, green/white. 3 on the opaque connector- yellow/blue, black/yellow, blue/yellow. And a single wire- light green/black. Please help. I would be extremely grateful.

Those colors don't appear in the radio connector in the connector diagram. The stock radio has only one connector with twelve wires coming off it.

Here is an adapter harness for a stock radio connector:

Since you're in Australia, our diagrams will probably be different. I went to the KIA tech site figuring with a vin we might get lucky but it looks like they cut it off at 05 now......

Maybe hit some local stereo shops and they might be able to help you out.........
