I was searching around the already written posts that resembled my problems and nothing seemed to fit. The car was in an accident a year and half ago, where the passenger's knee hit and broke the plastic around the console area, but nothing was damaged to the radio. No recent repairs except a thermostat about 9 months ago.
The radio started out just powering off briefly, then powering back up. Then it gradually changed to where the radio was off longer then on, and now it has been off for a month. We had a brief couple hours of radio time around Valentines day, and nothing since. Its the stock radio, nothing special there. Any ideas would be GREAT! The no music while driving to work has been AWFUL!!! Tyvm in advance!

Sounds like it's just a problem with the radio itself. You would have to verify the power supply into the radio before condemning it.

You may have a cracked trace or broken solder connection inside of the radio from the accident. Vibration from driving as time went by may have just worsened the situation. As the post ahead of me stated, make sure you are getting power to the radio. There should be two positive power sources going to the radio.

Would there be a way to test the radio without having another car, or paying the dealership to test it? I'm SO completely lost when it comes to cars, so if my question brings up feelings of wanting to throw rocks at me for being so thick headed, please take my apologies in advance. =)

Any testing is going to require removing the radio and reading a wiring diagram so if you're not confident in doing that, it doesn't leave you many options.

Belliot: #1 - If not way to involved with sound systems check out exact fit aftermarket using adaptors such that vehicles wiring isn't involved but just plugs in via adaptor or "interface" just for your car.
Sound systems no longer my thing - just want the radio/stereo but have CD + cassette in two different old cars in collectible condition. I'd have spent the farm to get originals that just aren't available.
Lucky as local shop and all they do had fairly simple replacements that sound fine for under $100 bucks! Can easily cost that to fix one and a charge usually to find out if it can be. My beef with aftermarket is the flush faces that for me anyway require taking your eyes off the road to operate and near all originals were quick and simple without looking.
Check that out and hope you have a specialty place for the best advice for your car, fix or replace. Not big bucks anymore unless you go nuts. Basic decent tunes that don't mess up your car's wires or dash parts are out there. Suggest at least checking it out,
