How expensive would it be to fix my 2003 Honda, Accord EX 5 cd changer?	Sign In

When I bought my Honda the dealer had to put a new cd player about two months after I drove the car home. It broke down again about three or four years ago. Would it be expensive to fix? Or should I just have a new one put in?....

I can't say as to the exact amount but it can be expensvie depending on what's wrong, you should price a replacement unit just to have an idea and also factor in you're talking about a 4 year old deck that has had problems in the past.........

Agree - price out a replacement - aftermarket that used and interface so as not to mess with cars wiring. I'm no stereo pro with cars but was warned the ones that hold more that one CD are more likely to fail, skip on bumps etc. If you are a fanatic do what you need to do. Local place had a decent Kenwood for $79! I was shocked, interface was like $45 install $50 saves the warranty. Not out of control great but pretty dang good!

not knowing what the problem is, sometimes you can disconnect the changer overnight and plug it back in in the morning. this basically resets the microprocessor. kind of like rebooting a computer.
