How do you remove a knob? Login - Sign Up

My radio has a push-on/push-off volume control. Whatever pushed the knob back out after you push it in doesn't work anymore, which makes the on/off function very sensitive to the touch (you kind of have to pull it out while turning up the volume to prevent it from turning off). How do you remove the knob for repair or replacement? On second thought, maybe the problem is in the control itself, but I was thinking that maybe I could put some springy foam behind the knob as a work around.

Is it possible that soda has been spilled on the knob? You could, very carefully, spray a little bit of silicone spray on the knob. Very sparingly....
