HELP! 2006 PONTIAC G6 - CD PLAYER & HORN ERROR Sign In

Need your help!!

I have a 2006 Ponitac G6 and in a last 2 days I keep getting a no disk error msg on the cd player. Every time I put in a cd it gets ejected and when there's nothing in the player it keep running like it's trying to read a CD. I've pulled the fuse and this hasn't fixed the problem. It seems that even when the car is off it keeps running and trying to read the CD and drains my battery so I have to keep pulling the fuse every time I turn off the car. Any advice?

My second issue is the car horn keeps going off every time I lock and open the door. When the car is turned off the horn starts going off non-stop and I have to start the car in order for it too stop and once the car is off the horn starts going off like crazy again. I've tried removing the Horn fuse and this does nothing. Any suggestions?

sounds like two different unrelated problems. THe cd player sounds like an internal failure of one of the switches that sense the disk . make sure you dont have another disk jammmed in there. It would cost more to fix than a salvage yarde unit. The horn sounds like your anti theft system has beeen activated check your owner manual for operating procedure.

Thanks! There is no other cd in the player. Everytime you out a cd in it ejects it right away. I have reset the anti theft system and still nothing. Any idea if this is fixable without going into a shop?

As far as the cd player .Even if you could get it apart, there no parts availible . Just for the heck of it. go to a store such as staples , office depot. Get a can of pressurized air used for cleaning keyboards. blow out the inside of player as hard as you can , blow around the eject switch. might not help but cant hurt.As fo horn , try locking and unlocking drivers door with key. anyone else care to chime in?

Tried the compressed air method you suggested for the CD player and still nothing. If anyone else has any advice on the cd player continuing to try and intake a cd continuously with no cd being inputted and draining the battery if I don't pull the fuse everytime the car is turned off I'd really appreciate it. I was able to fix the car horn and alarm system going off by resetting the anti-lock theft component and issue is nolonger occuring. Thanks!

I have moved your question to the stereo forum. It should do better there.
