Basically my problem is fairly simple I need to identify a part so I can get a replacement! I replaced the stock stereo in my 98 Mercury (Escort) Tracer GS. I took a ton of pictures while doing the replacement so I could post a short guide online, I couldn’t find any free guides when I looked. Anyway in the process of replacing the stereo I damaged the cog that fits on the temperature dial on the oval control panel that also houses the stereo. I’ve attached a front and rear picture to help identify the part! The part on the rear is in the center and is grey in color, it fits to the front center temperature hot/cold knob. Thanks in advance for the assistance and if anyone knows a good place I can post my guide so others can lean from my mistakes please direct me there! I cannot help you with your missing part though. I doubt it though. Just create a new Thread in this forum title "Generic Car Installation Instructions" Once you have done that I will "sticky" the thread to make it appear at the top.
