Hi! Have a 2000 Nissan Altima GXE with 105,000 miles-4 cyl.
Gas pedal and vibration in car between 20-25 mph. It's smooth before and after those speeds. Both Axles have been replaced and I just purchased 2 new tires and got an alignment and it did not correct the problem. The service station did note a new serpentine belt was recommended soon. Would that cause the vibration or is it something else?

How are the engine mounts? Nissan has some problems with engine mounts rattling your teeth out for those years after the vehicles got up in age and mileage. Can you feel the vibration when the engine fan comes on?
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Thanks for reply. Took it to my shop Thurs and had mechanic ride with me and showed him how to get it to vibrate. He then drove it for quite a while and kinda shook his head as it only does it between 20-30 (I posted wrong when I said 20-25.) He going to check with the owner and other mechanics and I will definitely ask him about engine mounts. Is there any way I can check this myself and if it were the mounts wouldn't it vibrate at all speeds?

My mechanic test drove it and was going to do some research but I haven't heard from him or many people on this forum. Please...dumb blonde looking for answers:)))))))))))))

No such thing as a dumb blonde! I have years of tech schooling and the dumbest things that should be obvious elude me sometimes.
It's not funny when it's your car in trouble and trust me that I really do believe most techs are trying their best to help you no matter your own mechanical background. If not, they go in the dumpster like any other trade - any form of discrimination will not be tolerated by me and shouldn't by regulars. Site is here to help and sometimes that means suggesting getting local help as great as computers are there's only so much,

Tom,
I was only trying to make some light of the situation since I'm frustrated and can't find any answers to the vibration. Am changing the subject as I notice it happens between 20-30 not 20-25 mph. That's right where the car shifts but the shifting seems smooth.
I didn't mean in any way to insinuate anyone called me or thought I was not a very smart blonde. sorry.

Just know (now all guy are the regulars) are here to help you. Mods here as police work mostly to keep the site clean of spam/bots. Can anyone misread or misunderstand your trouble - yes of course so all suggestions are really our best intentions.
In this thread is to check motor mounts by "DS" (we gravitate to abbreviate our user names) and they are suspect. Man can that make vibrations and noises as do exhaust parts.
Engine and trans are making all kinds of vibrations and should be rubber mounted insulated from your notice and when they fail some wild noise/vibrations COULD result. Just rule that out if applicable.
Side topic: I helped start this site ages ago and my mission is to keep it user friendly and able to have some fun here and there. Still want real problems approached or pretty much mods or regulars can suggest another site or other help.
Here to help for free if you didn't notice and want it that way myself. No joke, any funds from ads just keep the site going and nobody gets paid! Think the techs out there are out to get you - wrong. These guys are angels volunteering their time with limited
by nature help on web site. Nothing replaces being there with many issues.
Enjoy the site. It's now full of info search-able and happy to be part of it in my old age. What's a digital clock? Just laugh. Really, some serious safety issues come by and we have to deal with that too pragmatically!
