Keep going till you can nail it down. Hey - something with pads/shoes or hardware, spin wheel for bearing noise, if this is AWD then CV joints anywhere but IMO "grinding" is more likely brake or bearing problem and the popping might be anything the can move under the load. Remember rear squats a bit upon acceleration...........
