2003 Chevy Silverado 4.3L/V6 66,000 mi. Problem started two days ago (when the weather started to get warmer). Turned on A/C on lowest setting at low heat, a whistling noise that would fluctuate in pitch. Turning the temperature to max hot and max cold had no effect, but turning the blower speed from low to max made the whistle more aggressive, hitting bumps in the road would give the fluctuating whistling noise a 'pitch spike.' The noise goes away after the truck has gone a few miles and is warmed up. The noise is definitely only on the interior of the truck and around the A/C blower motor / interior air filter housing under the passenger side glove box. Suggestions on the root of my whistle before I go disarming airbags and ripping into the housing under my glove box? Thanks

Tough to do more than guess on this. I'm betting IF AIR FLOW IS GOOD WITH EITHER HEAT OR PANEL VENTS that it's a coincidence and you are hearing the motor itself. They can - I'll call it give a "howl" at their bushings of the motor's shaft that of course is not serviceable that goes away with use - sometimes. Some tests to narrow it down: Try closing panel vents one at a time to see if that matters. If this only will make noise on "vent" or A/C requests there could be something in or about ductwork that makes noise. Any chance stuff got in there? Junk on dash, kids or strange older pharts (laugh) who might have played with the vents? T
