Ticking Noise Sign In

I have a 2002 Ford F250 super duty with a V-10 motor,I used the truck Sunday and it ran fine went out today (Monday) and it's making a loud ticking noise from bottom of motor and it doesn't act like it's running on all the cylinders either, any ideas?

Re: Ticking Noise Sign In

Is the check engine light on? If it is, have the codes read and post numbers back here. Might be a bad spark plug.

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Re: Ticking Noise Sign In

Lowrider, the first thing that comes to mind is a TSB on these engines. They are known to eject the spark plug and destroy the coil on top. When you said ticking noise and then seems to not hit on all cylinders that's the first thing I thought of. If this is the case, you can bring the truck to the dealer where they have a helicoil type sleeve to repair this.
