Rattling underneath car.

I just bought a 2003 Saturn Ion3 with 159,000 miles. This is my daughters first car. As you drive over small bumps or even big one for that matter there is a rattling in the front and rear of the car. it really depends on what tire hit the bump as to what side the sound comes from. My wife said you can here it worse on the passenger side of the car. Pls help I haven't gave it to my daughter yet, I would like to have it fixed before she gets it in 2 weeks.

There are a lot of things that can rattle under the car and nothing short of putting it on a lift and inspecting it thoroughly is going to tell you what the cause is.
