91 GMC Seirra 1500 5.0 (305) over 100 thousand miles. There is a loud rattling noise coming from the flywheel area. I have had the flywheel and torq converter checked, both are in good condition. It makes the sound when you give it gas then it quiets when the engine levels out. You don't hear it when idleing.

Exactly how did you check these things? Did you remove the transmission?

Yes the transmission was removed, flywheel was taken completely off.

I don't know what to tell you except try to get it up on a lift and try to pinpoint the location while duplicating the sound.

Just a thought: Does this model use a center support bearing for driveshaft? If so, those can make quite a racket when failed,
