Noise when coming to a full stop Sign In

My car is making a very slight "thump" when coming to a full stop. Sounds like its coming from the rear. Happens more when I have to stop a little hard. Any advice? Thanks

Year, make, model, and engine size?

Have you inspected or done work to the brake system?

Car is new. 2015 Subaru Legacy. Hasn't had brake wortk. Alignment has had to been fixed already and I think it may need to be aligned again.

Has this been wrecked?

I really don't think an alignment problem would cause a thumping noise when hitting the brakes. Someone or yourself should do a visual inspection of the steering and braking system. Maybe there is a rotor with excessive runout or thickness variation causing that.

Car was bought new, no accidents. It happens about a second after the car comes to a full stop. Could it be the suspension?
