Hello all,
My husband drives a 2009 Subaru Impreza (I believe) and he recently just took his car in to his mechanic to replace both driver and passenger side wheel bearings because they were squeaking at low speeds & and when turning the wheel to a certain point. He just got his car back last night, however this morning, the slight squeaking returned. Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? I don’t want him to waste more money & time at his mechanic if they aren’t diagnosing his issue correctly. He’s already gone a few times to have this issue looked at. Idk if this matters, but he car is also on bags, so he can lower his car as he pleases. Please help! Thanks :)

Obviously it was misdiagnosed. You need someone a little more reliable to inspect the car. There are many things that can cause noises like that but on my short list would be the brake pads themselves. Many have warning sensors that make noises like that when the pads get worn out.

When you are hearing the noise try touching the brakes lightly and see if that effects the noise.

Oh my. Squeaking isn't high on the list for a bearing. A brake issue is more likely as Hammer already said if you sent this to a shop ask for old parts (bearings in particular) you know a bad one in hand a new one doesn't spin well right out of the box good ones used are silent/no ro0ugh feel by hand,

Tom
